Happy Valentines day! Yesterday when I was abandoned in my di-ubical, I jammed out to some Jon McLaughlin. I've listened to this album a lot over the past year, but I think this was the first time I truly listened to the words. This song spoke to me. I feel like Valentines day is often a sad day for people who are single, especially for teenage girls. It is a reminder that they don't have that "special someone." I feel like teenage girls are hard on themselves if they don't have a boyfriend. They feel left out, like they are not good enough, pretty enough, undesirable, unloved. This is how I remember often feeling, I was a beautiful disaster. But these are lies! I say this over and over again and I mean it...girls you are LOVED, you are BEAUTIFUL, you are absolutely AMAZING! Just because you're single now does not mean that there is no hope for you! It means that you are single, and there is nothing wrong with that. You do not need to change ANYTHING! Use this time to hang out with the girls, discover your interests and gifts, serve others, use this time to grow yourself and grow in your relationship with God. You will not regret being single later, I never have.

Last night, I was listening to this song in my car. It was the first time I'd listened to the words. And I thought, "dang...John...you're speaking my heart right now!" And I started thinking basically EVERYTHING YOU JUST WROTE.
I know it sounds too weird to be true...but seriously...CRAZY!!!!!
